This website and the service it provides (“Charity Digital Jobs”, “we”) is run in partnership by Charity Digital (charity number 1133179, company number 06902258) and Prospectus (company number 0877269).  

Charity Digital jobs  adheres to European levels of data protection and is compliant to the provisions of  Data Protection Act (2018). Charity Digital News will ensure that it remains compliant to any future UK legislation   relating to the protection and transfer of personal data.  

The following privacy policy describes the information Charity Digital and Prospectus collect from job seekers, employers and other visitors of in order to provide the Charity Digital Jobs service. This policy also describes how that data is processed and protected. 

By using the service, you are consenting to the collection, use, disclosure and other handling of your information as described below. 

  1. Information we collect from you

When you visit our website, we may collect or ask you to provide certain information to create an account or post a job opening in a variety of ways. This information may include: personal information representing any information that identifies you, such as name, date of birth, email address and any other details contained in your CV. 

Personal information provided by job seekers 

  • Contact details, such as name, address, email address and phone number 
  • Site usage information, including registration date, IP address and job alert frequency 
  • CV details or LinkedIn profile details 

Charity Digital acts as the data controller for job seekers, while Prospectus acts solely as a data processor. 

Personal information provided by employers 

  • Contact details, such as name, email address and phone number 
  • Company profile e.g. name, UK Charity Number
  • Site usage information, including registration date, IP address and job alert frequency 
  • Billing information including billing address and credit card payment  

Prospectus acts as the data controller for employers, while Charity Digital  acts solely as a data processor. 

Personal information provided by other site visitors 

  • Device and location information (i.e. IP address) 
  • Registration and login information 
  • Do Not Track disclosure 

Charity Digital and Prospectus both act as data controllers of this data with the intention to improve the Charity Digital Jobs website and service.

When you explicitly request to receive job alerts and/or marketing emails, we will rely on this consent to process your personal information. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time.

We will only process your data when it is in our legitimate interests to do this and when these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. 

Our legitimate interests include: 

  • ensuring the security and integrity of our services and in ensuring that our website operates effectively; 
  • promoting, marketing and advertising our relevant products and services; 
  • providing anonymised site usage information to employers; 
  • understanding site visitors’ behaviour, activities, preferences, and needs to improve the Charity Digital Jobs service; 
  • handling customer contacts, queries, complaints or disputes; and

Moreover, you can update your details if they are not correct or delete them to remove details from our system (unless we are obliged to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes). 

Moreover, you have additional rights such as to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain ways, to obtain a copy of your personal information, to object to certain processing of your personal information by us and to ask for your data to be transferred to another party.

For the protection of your privacy and security, our Data Protection Officer (DPO) will take every reasonable step to ensure that your identity is verified before granting access, rectification, or deletion. 

  1. Accessing and deleting your personal information 

When you create an account and login to your ‘My Account’ area, it is protected by your password and may only be accessed by you. You can update your information at any time by accessing your account. You can also deactivate your profile by logging into your ‘My Account’ area. 

If you would like to permanently delete your account, you can send an email to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) (see below) with the subject line: “Permanently delete my information and account”. 

  1. Who do we share your personal information with? 

Charity Digital Jobs will not share personal information with companies, organisations or individuals outside of Charity Digital and Prospectus unless one of the following requirements is met: 

  • You have explicitly consented for us to do so 
  • To follow our requirements under UK and European legislation 
  • To provide the service. To do this, we may share your personal information with:
  • Website hosting and platform providers (e.g.
  • Analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics)

We retain your information as long as your account is active or we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so. When we have no ongoing business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise it.

The services may contain links to third-party websites, applications and services, including social media services, as well as embedded images or other third-party content and features. The information you choose to provide to or that is collected by these third parties is not covered by our privacy policy.

The Charity Digital Jobs service is not directed to, nor do we knowingly collect information from children (being under the age of thirteen).
