The Humane League UK is seeking a dynamic, creative and organised individual to take ownership of our social media channels and bring our online presence to the next level. This is a full-time, remote working position. Preferably you will be London-based or with easy access to London. You will need to be self-motivated with strong communication and collaboration skills. You will play a key role in telling THL UK’s story online and mobilising support to drive progress for animals. The key focus of the role will be delivering first-rate, mission-driven social media communications. You must have: Commitment to the objectives of The Humane League UK Professional social media management experience Social media savvy Passion for all things digital Strong communication and storytelling skills Excellent writing skills including spelling and grammar Organised Creative Team Player It would be desirable for you to have professional video-editing experience and a working knowledge of the animal rights movement, especially in regards to farm animal advocacy. NB For this role, there will be a skills test, followed by a three web-based interviews. Please see below for important dates if you are successful. Primary duties include: Day to day social media management Responsible for managing THL UK social media networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin, and any other networks implemented in the future Drafting and scheduling posts for THL UK’s social media in line with the organisational strategy Social media community management including moderating and responding to comments and messages Attending events, protests and actions to deliver social media comms Concepting social media content and liaising with design/video teams to produce Strategy: In partnership with the global comms team, build, implement and lead our UK Social Media strategy, focused on growing our community and our measurable impact via social media. Report on social media insight data to monitor and evaluate success, on a monthly basis. Assisting the Communications Manager in identifying key influencers and developing influencer engagement strategies Monitoring other organisations’ & companies’ social media to identify trends Organisation: Managing communications and content calendars, inputting key social media activities and updating as necessary Using the communications calendar to identify necessary social media activities Liaising with other departments to identify opportunities for social media Using social media management tools Managing social media volunteers: Training Regular check-in calls Post checking and feedback Setting tasks and monitoring work Raising the profile of the Managing Director on social media: Drafting Linkedin and Twitter posts Growing MD’s followers on Linkedin and Twitter Monitoring inboxes for press/other requests Teamwork: Updating the wider team on social media progress Participating in team meetings including note-taking and facilitation Attending in-person workshops several times a year Skills Required: Communicator : You have excellent written and spoken communication skills and an eye for detail.
