The WaterAid Global Campaigns team plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid's major advocacy and campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact.
This is a full time, one-year contract. The location of this role is flexible and can be based in a country where there is a WaterAid office. There will be some travel required, in particular if the successful candidate is based outside the UK.
As our Senior Communications Campaigner, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering WaterAid's external communications in order to achieve advocacy goals. You will work with policy, advocacy and communication colleagues across the organisation to translate complex policy messaging into compelling advocacy messages and products. You will harness digital communication channels to effectively influence decision-makers at international, regional and country levels.
You will be an exceptional writer who is politically savvy and can write messaging that gains traction with advocacy targets. You will have a track record of achieving impact through communication plans, in particular using digital channels. You will be dynamic and strategic in your communications approach, and will be a strong project manager who can work with teams across multiple countries and departments.

This is an office-based post in a country where WaterAid has a presence. In particular, we are encouraging people with extensive experience of working in the Global South to apply. This post will have to work closely with colleagues that are currently based in the UK, so time zones that make working in another country practicably feasible will be a consideration when choosing applicants.
The UK-based salary for this role is £36,500 to £38,500 (subject to experience) with excellent benefits. Salaries/benefits for different countries will vary in line with WaterAid's country salary scales.

WaterAid is currently located at Durham Street, Vauxhall. However, we will be leaving our current location in Sept 2020 and moving to 20 Canada Square, Canary Wharf. Therefore the London Office location and contract base, if you are successfully offered the role, will change. This will be discussed at the interview stage with you.
