Job Advert

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our region team. As our in-house designer, you will be responsible for supporting the region office with projects and initiatives, under the leadership of the PR and Communications Coordinator.

Girlguiding North West England has over 60,000 members in our region, across 17 guiding counties. We enable our members to discover and fulfil their potential through an exciting range of enjoyable activities and events, so they can make a positive contribution to their community and make a difference to the world. We aim to support both our younger members and adult volunteers to go the extra mile, truly putting girls in the lead. You can help us create positive change for our members through your creativity.

One day you could be working on our annual World Thinking Day campaign or creating empowering visual pieces for International Day of the Girl, and the next, you'll be designing fun challenges and badges for our members to add to their fascinating collection. It's safe to say that no two days are the same.

As a Designer, you will generate inspiring and appropriate print and digital design solutions within agreed deadlines. You will also:

  • Design and produce artwork and resources for a variety of mediums. This includes, but is not limited to, flyers for events and training, resources and challenge packs, badge design, social media graphics and annual events brochures.
  • Produce the design work for the region newsletter.
  • Ensure that the design content for the region website is current and up to date.
  • Provide design support to the counties in the region, where necessary.

To be successful, you will have adequate experience in visual communication with experience of working professionally producing visual design for integrated projects across both print and digital platforms. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, excellent art working, and illustrative skills are essential. In addition, you will also have video design/motion graphics skills.
