Job Advert

Part time, 20 hours per week

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Media Assistant to take responsibility for helping to promote the work of our Rehoming Centres through creating engaging content for our social media and other relevant platforms.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they can find a loving new home and the success of our centres wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated team of staff and volunteers; there is a real family-community within each of our centres. Come rain or shine, our team are out in all weathers to make sure the dogs have the best possible life. Dealing with thousands of visitors each month, our rehoming centres are the face of Dogs Trust and we pride ourselves on our staff providing the very best in customer service.

In this role you will support the work of our rehoming centres and the wider organisation by interacting with dogs in our care and generating high quality photographs and videos of them, ensuring that these are available to be used in in rehoming and publicity materials and overseeing the production of these by other staff members. You will also play a key role in managing our social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

An excellent communicator with experience of working within media, PR or marketing you'll have an eye for a story and the ability to generate ideas to support them. You'll have good photography and videography skills, be knowledgeable and experienced in using social media in a professional capacity including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and committed to the aims of Dogs Trust with the ability to accurately convey our policies, key messages and brand identity. A full, manual UK driving licence is also required.
