Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

What you’ll be doing:

This exciting role will be responsible for Muslim Aid’s Social Media accounts incl. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and LinkedIn to promote Muslim Aid’s global online profile. The post-holder will work closely with the rest of the marketing team to design and execute marketing strategies with the aim of raising the profile of Muslim Aid's fundraising campaigns.

The main responsibilities of this role will be to:

Plan, prepare and populate Muslim Aid’s social media accounts with relevant, engaging, innovative text, image and video content, including developing the social media calendar. You will be required to research and write short stories that build meaningful connections with audiences and contribute to creative concepts to drive engagement among target audiences.

The role will also be required to research audience preferences, conduct Social Listening and understand current trends to see what audiences are responding or resonating with.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an exceptional, savvy, self-motivated Social Media / Communications professional with a degree level qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. communication, Journalism, Media, Marketing etc.

You will have experience manging an organisation’s social media accounts within the charity (preferably international) sector. You will have excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and a knowledge of the development/humanitarian contexts that Muslim Aid works within. This role has a responsibility to represent our beneficiaries and supporters responsibly and ethically and a solid understanding of safeguarding is essential.
