About the department

The Technical Services Department comprises of channel leadership, Commercial Sales (development & selling of sexual reproductive health products); Marketing to drive demand and behavioural change; Impact (measuring the health and economic impact of our activities) and Evidence to Action to support research and measurement of results. These teams are charged with developing the global goods and best practices that the International Operations Department deploy to help deliver products and services and service excellence. These global goods and best practices inform the new business development done by the Proposal Design and Development department and thought-leadership for the sector.

About the team

The Global Marketing Team (GMT) guides MSI on best practice for overcoming behavioural barriers and generating demand for our service delivery channels, thus increasing the number of family planning and safe abortion services we are able to provide to women in need. The team provides expert support to country programmes in the use of research findings and audience insight, development of demand creation strategy, branding, contact centres, digital marketing and improving the client experience in our services. The team also supports country programmes in tools and techniques for measuring the impact of marketing activities. In collaboration with the Commercial Sales team, the GMT also leads the development of our commercial product portfolio and supports in the branding and marketing strategies for each product, globally and locally in conjunction with each priority country.

About the role

This position will primarily support the Product Marketing Manager on brand management, new product development, product research and marketing intelligence gathering and launch planning. This will include development of promotional and communication materials, managing the relationship with agencies as well with strategy implementation for future pipeline, helping to organise market research, translation of market data into insights and supporting the country programmes on the potential roll-out of global projects.

This role will also support the Senior Marketing Advisor on global digital activity across web and social media, digital marketing measurement, app development and digital campaigns for product launches. This will include managing relationships with agencies and country programmes, providing guidance and training on digital marketing best practice, reporting and analysis of digital marketing activity and support with global app roll-outs.

Experience requirements

  • Previous experience in product marketing (pharmaceutical marketing experience preferred);
  • Experience in digital marketing and measurement, specifically across websites and social media;
  • Familiarity with latest marketing trends and best practices;
  • Knowledge of product pricing, packaging, distribution and positioning process;
  • Experience in gathering and analysing market intelligence;
  • Experience managing projects and information across multiple locations/teams.

Qualifications & Training

  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Communication, Business or related field (desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook (essential)
  • Able to perform basic analytical functions in Microsoft Excel (Macros, formula, pivot tables) (essential)
  • Able to use PowerPoint and other communication tools (Canva, Adobe) (desirable)
