The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK
The Data Analytics team conducts high-quality, in-house research and analysis, and collaborates with the NHS to develop approaches to improve health care that can be applied at local and national levels. The Data Architect will support the Improvement Analytics Unit (IAU), working with the Senior Data Manager to develop and deliver an ambitious data management agenda to support rapid-cycle evaluation.
The successful candidate will help ensure that quality control, standardised cleaning and metadata collection is applied to the updating of core datasets used by the IAU, as well as help investigate the potential and use of new data. You will also work closely with statisticians to develop and deliver data specifications and analysis datasets used by the IAU, embedding the preferred approach to analysis within the production environment. Since the IAU has a complex and dynamic work programme, you will be required to be adaptive and to seek to improve approaches to data management over time.
You could possibly be a recent graduate looking to work with real world data, a data specialist in the NHS or someone who has managed data in a health economics setting. Importantly you will demonstrate practical experience of data manipulation techniques, an understanding of governance arrangements for administrative data sources in the United Kingdom and the health sector and a track record of conducting analyses, preferably using large data sets.
You will be able to work collaboratively and have a corporate approach, demonstrate the organised and methodical approach that will allow you to deliver results and have the flexibility required to adapt to changing circumstances, learning along the way. Equally important will be your proficiency in statistical or data management software (e.g. SAS and R) and your excellent analytical skills.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a someone who is passionate about data and who is committed to our core behaviours - Working Together, Discovering & Learning and Achieving Impact.
The Health Foundation values equality and diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
