About the charity
Allergy UK (the operating name of the British Allergy Foundation) is the leading charity advocating on behalf of and supporting the estimated 21 million people living with allergy in the UK.
Over the last 27 years we have provided a range of advice, education, information and support to those living with allergy, healthcare professionals and the public. We have been successful in achieving changes in legislation at a national level through our advocacy work and gradually raising the profile of the seriousness of allergy, with our vision that everyone with allergy receives the best possible care. As awareness of allergy increases so does the need to do more for the allergic community.
We have ambitious plans for the future with our next five-year strategic plan for the charity looking to increase our fundraising activities, focusing on diversifying income streams whilst still fostering commercial awareness through our trading subsidiary. This is an exciting time to join Allergy UK and we are looking for a Communications Manager with experience in the Charity Sector to join us and be a part of our success story.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be an integral part of the management team. The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification and experience in all areas of communications including; media relations, web development, social media management and internal communications. This role requires a proactive and adaptable approach to handle the day to day activities, where delivery of high quality information is key, whilst leading a small team of communications and web and digital employees.
The role is office based in Sidcup. We offer a competitive salary, 3% employer and 5% employee contribution to a pension scheme, free car parking, 28 days’ annual leave and access to an on-line portal with discounts including high street stores and restaurants.
