This is an exciting time for the NHSmail service which is used by over 1.2 million NHS staff in England and Scotland.  NHSmail will shortly go live with a hybrid Exchange 2013/Office 365 service as well as many other planned developments including identity management/federation, implementing new email messaging standards and working on the future direction of NHSmail.
 
As the Senior Technical Architect on the NHSmail programme you will have day to day architecture responsibility in supporting the NHSmail service.  You will ensure architecture consistency with the NHS Digital best practice and policy whilst ensuring a pragmatic delivery against business requirements is achieved.

The advertised salary is inclusive of a Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) of 20%, the core salary range is £61,777 - £72,597 (£74,132 - £87,116).

About you

We want to make sure that you are set for success, these are the key skills and experiences that you will have:

  • Significant hands on experience with cloud, infrastructure and collaboration systems, operating as the senior point of technical authority. 
  • You will be required to make credible technical decisions and communicate with sensitivity and diplomacy to ensure the right technical direction is followed. 
  • Experience of leading and delivering technical change, challenging the status-quo, anticipating problems and monitoring implementation progress. 
  • Experience of managing staff to deliver across a large and complex domain of work in terms of transaction and data volumes, technology complexity and number of active users. 
  • TOGAF certification
