A chance to lead Freedom from Torture through the next phase of our digital transformation

Freedom from Torture is the only organisation in the UK dedicated solely to the treatment of survivors of torture.

Torturers attempt to silence and break people. We help survivors to find their voices again and rebuild their lives in the safety of the UK.

Our team of dedicated professionals provide direct support to survivors including psychological therapy, physical health services, legal and welfare support, and expert medical reports for use in survivors' asylum claims. We also support other providers to deliver high quality rehabilitation services to survivors.

We campaign for national and global change, using evidence from our services and survivor voices to protect and promote survivors' rights and hold torturing states to account. We are proud to play a significant role in the global anti-torture movement. Survivors, active and empowered, are at the centre of all of our work.

None of this can happen without our vibrant community of supporters who help to create this change.

Thanks to the dedication of our staff and volunteers – as well as thousands of passionate supporters and funders – thousands of torture survivors have been able to rebuild their lives in incredibly difficult circumstances.

Are you a digital expert? Can you lead Freedom from Torture through the next phase of our digital transformation and be part of a brilliant Communications and Campaigns team changing the lives of people who have survived torture?

Every day, our organisation takes on the terrible effects of torture, and we have the privilege of getting to know the people whose lives we help to rebuild. We have ambitious plans to expand our work and change more lives for the better.

We’re seeking a digital leader who is motivated by the potential for digital channels to build a movement for change, both internally and externally. This means developing a digital strategy that influences policy, raises income, and embeds digital across the whole charity – including within our front-line services. You will be passionate about involving service users in developing digital projects.

You will combine strong technical and analytical skills with creativity and flair in the digital space, and not be afraid to get knee deep in data and technical solutions.

Possessing first class digital fundraising acumen and an instinct for story telling you know how to run integrated digital campaigns, segmenting and targeting different audiences, driving engagement, iterating in campaign and smashing our challenging digital fundraising targets. You’ll understand what makes great content, and how to make our online presence a force to be reckoned with.

Finally, you’ll be managing two excellent Digital Officers and some amazing volunteers. You will be able to support them, inspire them, and help them become better at their craft.
