Victim Support is looking for a Media and External Communications Lead based in London. Victim Support is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve. Our Media & External Communications Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that the charity is able to represent the voice of victims in the local and national media. The role sits as part of the wider Communications & Governance department bringing together all Victim Support's communications, digital, governance and brand work. The main duties of this role are to: Lead on delivering an effective external communications strategy Support the senior team to raise VS's profile in prioritised areas Maintain VS's profile nationally through reactive media relations Help enhance and protect VS's reputation using effective communication channels Drive self-referrals through PR and media coverage To be successful you will have experience of delivering media relations across print, broadcast and digital for a complex organisation. You will have strong influencing skills, be an excellent communicator and have a proven ability to work under pressure, and to plan and deliver activities to meet tight deadlines.
