National charity, Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) helps boost the physical and emotional wellbeing of people undergoing cancer treatment through free Workshops, printed materials and online tutorials.
The first Workshop for women was held 25 years ago and since then the charity has developed special sessions for teenagers and in 2018, introduced vitally needed services for men. Each group session is led by trained volunteers and is a chance to meet others in a similar situation, as well as learning useful skills and techniques to manage the side-effects of cancer treatment.
Finding out you have cancer is traumatic. The added stress of the appearance related side-effects can be demoralising and feel overwhelming, which can have serious consequences at a time when a positive attitude is vital.
Working closely with 130 hospitals and cancer support centres 20,000 people benefit from their Workshops every year, with thousands more seeking advice online. Services are available to all ages, skin-tone and every type of cancer
