The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. With a membership of more than 10,000 veterinary surgeons, vet nurses and students, we work in the UK and internationally to promote excellence in small animal practice through education and science, by facilitating training, conducting research and developing policy. Each year we deliver numerous education courses, host the largest small animal Congress in Europe, publish books, manuals, apps and magazines. This post sits within the marketing team, which is part of the newly formed Membership & Marketing team. The new Head of Membership & Marketing is currently reviewing the Association’s communications and membership support services – making this an interesting and opportune time to join the Association. Position: Communications & Marketing Co-ordinator Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire Job type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £21,150 to £23,500 per annum Benefits: Contributions towards Group Personal Pension, Life Assurance and Health Insurance, 23 days holiday (pro rata). Closing date: 23rd July 2019 About the role: Join the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and help promote small animal welfare. Are you an energetic and highly motivated marketing professional, looking for the next step in your career right here in Gloucestershire? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Gloucester based, in-house marketing team. As a key member of a new membership and marketing team, you will support the planning and delivery of communications and marketing activities to promote BSAVA, our products and the development of our brand. Sitting in the Membership & Marketing team, you will have a particular focus on member engagement. You will develop and deliver engaging and impactful member communications, and will contribute to the delivery and achievement of BSAVA’s membership recruitment and retention plans. About you: We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, who can really make this role their own. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must - both written and verbal - with a good eye for detail and strong visual literacy. Previous experience of working in a marketing role, or similar, is desirable, but not essential. Far more important is a passion for our mission, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills. This role would suit a recent graduate looking to enter marketing, or perhaps an experienced marketing professional looking to join the not-for-profit sector. - An ability to interpret information for a range audiences and channels. - Excellent IT skills. - An interest in and ability to report and analyse data. - Up-to-date knowledge of marketing and communication tools and trends. You may have experience of the following: Marketing Communications Coordinator, Digital / Online Executive, Events Assistant, Marcoms, email marketing, design / print agency management, website content management system, Copywriting, Direct Marketing etc.
